Powerlifting 32. End of week 16 summary ... and ice cream sundaes ... and competition time!

Monday morning weigh in 88.8kg, Saturday morning weigh in 89.6kg.

My 0.25kg mini-discs arrived so I can now really push at the margins with very slight increases of 0.5kg per increment. There is no need to apply these to my deadlifts at the moment because I am still managing to add on an extra 2.5kg each week, which I am very happy about.

This weeks work sets were as follows:

Monday: Squats 128kg (3,3,3,3,3)

Tuesday: Bench press 87.5kg (3,3,3,3,3)

Wednesday: Light deadlifts 80kg (5,5)

Thursday: Squats 128kg (3,3,3,3,3)

Friday: Deadlifts 152.5kg (3,3,3,3,3), light bench press 50kg (5,5)

My wide-grip pull ups are now at two sets of 12, my chin ups at two sets of 15 and my press ups at two sets of 40, so these are all still progressing. In terms of nutrition, well ....

It was the wife's birthday during the week, so we went out for a bit of indulgent desert. She was unable to finish hers, so of course I had to help her out. Good job it is only once a year!

Best of luck (though she doesn't need it because she is a BEAST!) to Jane who will be competing tomorrow at the North West Powerlifting Championships and will no doubt create various new records! SMASH IT JANE!!!!!!!

Finally, I purchased a nice new "Strength Athlete" top that the gym has just produced and took a rather dodgy selfie which I uploaded to my Facebook page. Of course, the lads in the gym were quick to take the piss, but I refused to crumble under the pressure and it is still there! I will consider changing it following a 180kg deadlift ... assuming I get a decent pic of it!
